Shalom Aleichem

A moment of unity in a divided world.

During the early months of COVID, I recorded a Zoom duet between my daughter Mika, then 9 years old, and my friend and colleague Dr. Habib Fanny, a PM&R physician originally from Côte d’Ivoire.
Together they sang Shalom Aleichem, a traditional Jewish melody of peace — chosen by Habib.

Two voices from very different cultures and backgrounds — harmonizing at a moment of fear and division.

This song reflects the core message of my work:

Healing begins with connection, humility, and understanding across differences.
It follows a path of synergy toward a common mission and shared goals.
It recognizes complexity, human frailty, and imperfection — yet works through them to empower, support, endure, and achieve.

The path to healing is a realistic one, yet remains optimistic.
